Australian Aboriginal Rugby League Team
The Indigenous Australian rugby league team (also known as the Indigenous All Stars or Indigenous Dreamtime team) is a rugby league football team that represents Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders. The team was first formed in 1973 and currently plays in an annual All Stars Match against a National Rugby League NRL All Stars team. History An Aboriginal v White Australian rugby league game was held in Barcaldine in Western Queensland in 1963. These 'Blacks v Whites' games continued annually until 1984. The first Australian Aboriginal rugby league team was assembled in 1973 The Aboriginal team managed to win seven of its nine matches in just 10 days, The team consisted of 34 players – 19 from NSW, 13 from Queensland and two from the Northern Territory. Australian Rugby League Commission
The Australian Rugby League Commission (ARL), formerly the Australian Rugby Football League known as the Australian Rugby League is an Australian rugby league football competition operator. It was founded in 1986 as the Australian Rugby Football League Limited and succeeded the Australian Rugby Football League Board of Control which had been formed in 1924. Since its inception, the ARL has administered the Australian national team and represented Australia in international rugby league matters. Will Robinson (rugby League)
Will Robinson (born 20 February 1971) is an Australian rugby league footballer who played professionally in England and Australia. Playing career Robinson started his career with the Balmain Tigers in 1990, debuting against Newcastle. In 1992 Robinson played for the Australian Aboriginies in the 1992 Pacific Cup. He was named in the team of the tournament, on the bench. Usually a five eighth or halfback in 1994, his final season with the Tigers, he moved into the centres. He then spent two seasons with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, also playing at hooker. Robinson spent 1997 and 1998 with the Illawarra Steelers. Robinson played in Illawarra's final ever game in the top grade which was a 25–24 loss against Canterbury-Bankstown in Round 24 1998 at WIN Stadium. Paul Davis (rugby League)
Paul Davis (born 12 March 1971) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played professionally for the Balmain Tigers. Playing career Davis played forty matches for the Balmain Tigers between 1992 and 1993. In 1992 he represented the Australian Aboriginies side at the Pacific Cup. Davis also played Group 2 Rugby League for Port Macquarie, Macksville and Dunghutti. Later years Davis coached Dunghutti in 2008. Darrell Wayne 'Tricky' Trindall (born 16 February 1972) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. Background Trindall was born in Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia. Career He played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs for ten seasons between 1990-1999, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs for two seasons between 2001-2002, Sheffield Eagles in 1994 and St Helens in 2000 as a half-back, and . Ron Gibbs (born 14 April 1962), also known by the nickname of "Rambo", is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played professionally in Australia and England. Graham Lyons
Graham Lyons (born 28 June 1969) is an Indigenous Australian, and a former professional rugby league footballer who played for South Sydney, Penrith and Balmain in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition. Lyons primarily played on the but spent the majority of the 1989 season in the centres. He is the cousin of fellow rugby league player Cliff Lyons. Ricky Walford
Ricky Walford (born 8 December 1963) is an Indigenous Australian former professional and state representative rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. He played for the Sydney Roosters, North Sydney Bears and the St. George Dragons. He was a goal-kicking Winger. Club career Born in the northern New South Wales town of Collarenebri, Walford was raised by his grandparents in the larger nearby town of Walgett. He was selected from Walgett as an Australian schoolboy representative and toured New Zealand in 1981. 1994 Pacific Cup
The 1994 Pacific Cup was the seventh staging of the Pacific Cup. It is a rugby league tournament held between Pacific teams. The tournament was hosted by Fiji and eventually won by Tonga, who defeated the hosts 34 - 11 in the final.
