Atlantis (wrestler)
Atlantis (born September 28, 1962) is a Mexican '' luchador enmascarado'' (masked professional wrestler), working for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) where he performs as a ''Técnico'' (face or "good guy" character) and is one of the longest-tenured ''luchador'' in CMLL history. Atlantis was trained by Diablo Velasco, made his in-ring debut in 1983 and has always wrestled under the ring name Atlantis, named after the sunken city of Atlantis. Atlantis has held a large number of professional wrestling championships over the years, both in Mexico and in Japan, both individually and as a tag team. He has also won the mask of several prominent wrestlers through his career including Kung Fu, Villano III, Último Guerrero and La Sombra. Atlantis earned the nickname ''El idolo de los Niños'' (the children's idol) as he was always a favorite with the younger fans. Lucha Films
Luchador films (or ''Lucha Libre films'') are Mexican professional wrestling/ action/science-fiction/ horror films starring some of the most popular masked luchadores in Lucha Libre. The luchadores are portrayed as superheroes engaging in battles against a range of characters from spies, to vampires and Martians. These films were low-budget and produced quickly. Nearly all lucha films included fist-fighting and wrestling action sequences in and out of the ring which were choreographed and performed by the stars themselves without the aid of stunt doubles. NWA World Middleweight Championship
The NWA World Middleweight Championship was a professional wrestling championship in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) between 1939 and 2010. For most of its existence, it was defended in the Mexican ''lucha libre'' promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), who called it the ''Campeonato Mundial Peso Medio de NWA''. Mexican National Tag Team Championship
The Mexican National Tag Team Championship ''()'' is a national Mexican professional wrestling championship controlled by the (Mexico City Boxing and Wrestling Commission) and competed for by two-man tag teams. The championship was created in 1957, promoted regularly until 2003, and intermittently until 2011 when the last known defense took place. (EMLL) had control of the championship from its creation until 1992, at which point it was transferred to AAA. Pablo Fuentes Reyna (December 31, 1956 – January 12, 2012) was a Mexican luchador (Spanish for professional wrestler) best known under the ring name MS-1 (MS Uno). As MS-1, Fuentes was a founding member of the wrestling group called '' Los Infernales'' (the Infernals) and achieved most of his success as part of the group, including being the first Mexican National Trios Champions and the first CMLL World Trios Champions. Aristóteles Radamés Coccó Flores (May 13, 1954 – April 12, 2012) was a Mexican professional wrestler, or luchador, best known for working under the ring name Masakre (Spanish for Massacre) in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Los Infernales
''Los Infernales'' (Spanish for "the Infernals") is a Mexican professional wrestling group, called a stable. The stable was created in 1984 and consisted of El Satánico, MS-1 and Espectro Jr. A later version where Pirata Morgan replaced Espectro Jr. is considered the "classic" ''Infernales'' team that helped popularize the "Trios" team concept in ''lucha libre''. MS-1, Satánico and Pirata Morgan were both the first Mexican National Trios Champions and the first CMLL World Trios Champions. Ángel Azteca
Juan Manuel Zúñiga (June 24, 1963 – March 18, 2007) was a Mexican professional wrestler, or '' Luchador'' as they are called in Spanish, best known for working under the ring name Ángel Azteca (Aztec Angel) since the late 1980s. Zúñiga is not related to wrestlers " Ángel Azteca, Jr." and "Ángel Azteca II", instead they paid Zúñiga to use the name and image. Tag team wrestling is a type of professional wrestling in which matches are contested between teams of multiple wrestlers. Arturo Beristain (born September 5, 1949) is a retired Mexican professional wrestler, or '' Luchador'' in Spanish, who works as a wrestling trainer at the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre's (CMLL) gym in Mexico City, Mexico. Beristain is best known for working under two different ring names, ''Talismán'' and ''El Hijo del Gladiador''; both personas started out as '' enmascarados'', or masked, and Beristain lost both masks in '' Luchas de Apuestas''. Jerry Estrada
Jerry Estrada (full name, Gerardo Hernández Estrada; born January 10, 1958, Monclova, Coahuila) is a semi-retired Mexican '' luchador'' (professional wrestler). For most of his career, he has portrayed a ''rudo'' ( heel, those that portray the "bad guys") character, nicknamed "El Puma". His ''rudo'' persona was pattered on various Glam Rock bands, complete with colorful spandex and what was described as a "rock and roll" attitude in the ring.
