''As You Were'' is a 1951 American service comedy film directed by Bernard Girard and Fred Guiol and starring William Tracy, Joe Sawyer and Russell Hicks. Released by the low-budget Lippert Pictures, it is considered a B movie. It was one of eight films featuring Tracy as Sergeant Dorian "Dodo" Doubleday and features footage from the production team's previous 1941 film '' Tanks a Million''. Bernard Girard
Bernard Girard (February 22, 1918 – December 30, 1997) was an American screenwriter, film producer, producer and film director. Life and career A native of Vallejo, California, Vallejo, Girard served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He was nominated for an Primetime Emmy Award, Emmy at the 9th Primetime Emmy Awards for Best Public Service Series (You Are There (series), You Are There). Girard died December 30, 1997, at age 79. Girard is survived by his wife, Linda, and three sons. Chris Drake
Chris Drake (born James Christian Droste, December 11, 1923 – July 9, 2006) was an American actor best known for his co-star role of the 1950s television series ''Sheena, Queen of the Jungle'', in which he co-starred with Irish McCalla. Early life Drake was born as James C. Droste near Richmond, Virginia. He traced his family's roots in Virginia back to 1638. When he was 10 years old, he moved with his family to California, after his father had developed an incurable skin condition. They settled in Manhattan Beach. Drake graduated from El Segundo High School. During World War II Drake joined the United States Marine Corps. As one of '' Carlson's Raiders'' at ''Guadalcanal'', Drake was wounded enough that he spent 11 months in eight Naval hospitals. Mary Alice "Maris" Wrixon (December 28, 1916 – October 6, 1999) was an American film and television actress. She appeared in over 50 films between 1939 and 1951. Early years Wrixon was born in Billings, Montana, and raised in Great Falls, one of three children born to Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Wrixon. Her interest in acting was sparked by a role she had in a class play when she was a student at Great Falls High School. She gained acting experience at the Pasadena Community Playhouse. Career Wrixon first appeared in films in the late 1930s, making one film in 1938 and 10 in 1939.
