Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown
The Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown was a professional golf tournament that was held 5–8 November 2020 at the Aphrodite Hills Resort, in Paphos, Cyprus. The tournament was contested over 72-holes of stroke play but featured a novel elimination format. The tournament, promoted by International Sports Management, was initially announced as the Cyprus Classic and was intended to be a one-off event on the European Tour calendar during the 2020 season. It was the second of two tournaments in Cyprus, held the week after the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open at the same venue. Robert MacIntyre shot a final round 64 to claim the title; one stroke better than Masahiro Kawamura. Paphos
Paphos ( el, Πάφος ; tr, Baf) is a coastal city in southwest Cyprus and the capital of Paphos District. Robert MacIntyre
Robert Hamilton Macintyre TD RIBA ARIAS (2 February 1940 – 18 September 1997) was a Scottish architect with a particular interest in church architecture and in the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. 2020 European Tour
The 2020 European Tour was the 49th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 12th edition of the Race to Dubai. The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the season, with many tournaments being rescheduled or cancelled. All four major championships were affected; The Open Championship was cancelled, and the Masters Tournament, U.S. Open and PGA Championship were moved to dates much later in the year. After a three-month hiatus following the Qatar Masters in early March, the tour resumed with a much changed schedule in July. Two dual-ranking events in Austria were followed by six-tournament stretch in the United Kingdom and three tournaments in Spain and Portugal, with the rescheduled major events starting in late September. is a Japanese professional golfer, who plays on the European Tour, Japan Golf Tour and the Asian Tour. Kawamura won his first title in 2013 at the Asia-Pacific Panasonic Open on the Japan Golf Tour, a tournament also co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour.
