Angelica Domröse
Angelica Domröse (; born April 4, 1941, in Berlin) is a German actress, who became famous in the role of Paula in Heiner Carow's film '' The Legend of Paul and Paula''. Her Mediterranean appearance is the result of her biological father being a prisoner of war from France. Life After training as a shorthand typist Domröse worked in a state-run foreign trade enterprise in East Germany. In 1958 she was discovered by the director Slatan Dudow and in 1961 attended the film university Potsdam-Babelsberg. In 1966 she joined the Berliner Ensemble, where among other things she performed in Brecht's '' Dreigroschenoper'', '' Schwejk im zweiten Weltkrieg'' and '' Die Tage der Commune'', as well as in Helmut Baierl's '' Frau Flinz''. She later worked with the Volksbühne Berlin until 1979, with whom she performed in plays by George Bernard Shaw, William Shakespeare and Peter Hacks. ''Angelica'' is a genus of about 60 species of tall Biennial plant, biennial and Perennial plant, perennial herbaceous, herbs in the family Apiaceae, native to temperate and subarctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere, reaching as far north as Iceland, Sápmi (area), Lapland, and Greenland. Dieter Noll
Dieter Noll (31 December 1927 – 6 February 2008) was a German writer. His best known work is the two volume novel ''Die Abenteuer des Werner Holt'' from the early 1960s which had sold over two million copies by his death. The work was filmed in 1965. Life Dieter Noll was born in Riesa, Saxony to a pharmacist. His mother, who was half Jewish, suffered from repression after the Nuremberg Laws were enacted in Nazi Germany. Noll attended an Oberschule before being drafted as a Luftwaffenhelfer, or assistant in the Nazi air force. Noll served as a Luftwaffenhelfer in the Schweren Heimatflakbatterie 210 in Borna district of Chemnitz, though at the end of 1944 he became a soldier in the Wehrmacht. Towards the end of the war, he was captured as prisoner of war by the Americans. After his release, he took his Abitur, or school-leaving certificate, in Chemnitz. Leonhard Frank
Leonhard Frank (4 September 1882 in Würzburg – 18 August 1961 in Munich) was a German expressionist writer. He studied painting and graphic art in Munich, and gained acclaim with his first novel ''The Robber Band'' (1914, tr. 1928). When a Berlin journalist celebrated in a famous café about news of the loss of the ship RMS Lusitania, torpedoed by a German submarine, Frank was upset – and slapped the man in his face. That is why he went into exile in Switzerland (1915–18), where he wrote a series of pacifist short-stories published under the title ''Man is Good''. He returned to Germany, but after the Nazis gained power in 1933 Frank had to emigrate a second time. ''At A French Fireside'' (german: An französischen Kaminen) is an East German film directed by Kurt Maetzig. It was released in 1963. Plot Bundeswehr soldier Klaus' regiment is stationed in France, to take part in NATO maneuvers. The soldiers are ordered to be kind to the populace, since the West German High Command wishes the French to forget the atrocities that were committed during the Second World War. Klaus falls in love with Jeanne, the daughter of the local mayor. He discovers that his commanders intend to demolish the ruins of a local church, in which civilians were murdered by the German occupation forces at 1944.
