Angela Winkler
Angela Winkler (born 22 January 1944) is a German actress. Life and career Born in Templin, Winkler trained to be a medical technologist in Stuttgart. Interested in theater, she went to Munich, where she took acting classes with Ernst Fritz Fürbringer. In 1967, she had her first role at the theater in Kassel. In 1969, she played the lead role in Peter Fleischmann's film ''Jagdszenen aus Niederbayern''. After seeing this film, Peter Stein offered her a position at the Berliner Schaubühne. Winkler performed in Berlin from 1971 to 1978. Her next film, ''The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum'', directed by Volker Schlöndorff and Margarethe von Trotta, made her a star in 1975. For the role of Katharina Blum, she received the Filmband in Gold. In 1979, she won international fame as the mother of Oskar Matzerath in Schlöndorff's Oscar-winning film '' The Tin Drum'', an adaption of the famous book of the same name by Günter Grass. Templin
Templin () is a small town in the Uckermark district of Brandenburg, Germany. Though it has a population of only 17,127 (2006), in terms of area it is, with 377.01 km2 (145.56 sq mi), the second largest town in Brandenburg (after Wittstock) and the seventh largest town in Germany. The town is located in the south of the rural Uckermark region and its capital Prenzlau, north of the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve. ''March of Millions'', also titled ''Die Flucht'' (''The Escape''), is a German television war drama film. The film stars Maria Furtwängler in the role of Lena Gräfin von Mahlenberg, the leader of a small convoy of refugees from East Prussia (including French and Russian prisoners of war and forced labourers) fleeing the advancing Red Army in the winter of 1944–1945, and trying to survive uprooted in Bavaria in the aftermath of World War II. When first broadcast by ARD in two parts, on 4 and 5 March 2007, it drew 13.5 million viewers. The production was reported to have cost €9m and to have employed over 2,000 extras. ''Benny's Video'' is a 1992 Austrian-Swiss psychological thriller film directed by Michael Haneke and set in Vienna. The plot of the film centers on Benny (Arno Frisch), a teenager who views much of his life as distilled through video images, and his well-to-do parents Anna (Angela Winkler) and Georg (Ulrich Mühe), who enable Benny's focus on video cameras and images.
