Andrew Gregory
Lieutenant-general (United Kingdom), Lieutenant-General Sir Andrew Richard Gregory, (born 19 November 1957) is a retired British Army officer who served as Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff. In September 2016, he became Controller SSAFA, The Armed Forces charity. He was appointed Master Gunner, St James's Park from 1 May 2017. Early life and education Gregory was born on 19 November 1957 to Lieutenant Colonel Richard B. Gregory and Alison Gregory (''née'' Egerton). He was educated at Sedbergh School. Military career Gregory was Officer (armed forces), commissioned into the Royal Artillery in 1981. As a brigadier, he served in Iraq. Andover ( ) is a town in the English county of Hampshire. The Most Honourable Order of the Bath is a British order of chivalry founded by George I on 18 May 1725. The name derives from the elaborate medieval ceremony for appointing a knight, which involved bathing (as a symbol of purification) as one of its elements. The knights so created were known as "Knights of the Bath". George I "erected the Knights of the Bath into a regular Military Order".
