Anders is a male name in Scandinavian languages and Fering North Frisian, an equivalent of the Greek Andreas ("manly") and the English Andrew. It originated from Andres via metathesis. In Sweden, Anders has been one of the most common names for many centuries, earliest attested in 1378. It was common for priests and farmers during medieval times. According to Statistics Sweden, as of 31 December 2002 it ranks 4th among the male names. Anders Aalborg
Anders Olav Aalborg (August 24, 1914 – February 13, 2000) was a teacher and a politician from Alberta, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1948 to 1971 as a member of the Social Credit caucus, and served in the cabinets of Premier Ernest Manning and Harry Strom from 1952 to 1971. Early life Anders Olav Aalborg was born on August 24, 1914, in Oxville, Alberta. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in the area. He took his post secondary education in Edmonton and became a teacher. He taught and served as a principal at various schools in the County of Vermilion River from 1933 to 1952, when he left teaching to assume his duties as a cabinet minister. Anders Björler
Anders Björler (born 26 February 1973) is a Swedish musician, composer and film director. He is best known as the guitar player in the metal bands The Haunted and At the Gates, alongside his bass-playing twin brother Jonas Björler. Björler has also directed, edited and produced music videos, documentaries and in-the-studio features for bands such as In Flames, Dark Tranquillity and Meshuggah, as well as his own bands. Anders Björklund' (born 11 July 1945) is a Swedish neuroscientist and pioneer in the study of cell- and gene-based reparative and neuroprotective mechanisms in the brain. He has spent his academic career at Lund University in Sweden, as professor since 1983 and as senior professor at the Wallenberg Neuroscience Center since his formal retirement in 2012. Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York. The Sabres compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. Anderson Patrick Bjork (born August 5, 1996) is an American professional ice hockey left winger for the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL). Bjork was selected 146th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Bjork played college hockey at Notre Dame in the Hockey East from 2014 to 2017. Anders Aukland
Anders Aukland (born 12 September 1972 in Tønsberg) is a professional Norwegian cross-country skier who has won both Olympic and World Championship gold medals. He lives in Oslo. Aukland also used to compete in athletics, and is a former national champion in 5000 meters (1995) and 10,000 metres (1996 and 1997) as well as cross-country running. He has represented Tønsberg FIK and IK Tjalve. In his only international athletics competition he finished seventh in 5000 m at the 1991 European Junior Championships. Anders Frithiof August (born 15 June 1978 in Copenhagen) is a Danish screenwriter, graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 2007. He wrote the short film '' The Pig'', that was nominated for an Oscar in 2009. In 2011 he won the Danish film- and television industry's biggest talent award, The Nordisk Film Award. He has written several episodes of Danish prime-time television as well as feature films, most notably '' Applause'', which won numerous awards for main actress Paprika Steen in 2010, and the 2012 Oscar short listed comedy '' SuperClásico''. Anders Askevold (25 December 1834 – 22 October 1900) was a Norwegian painter. His art was characterized by romantic national expression. He was best known for his fjord landscapes from Western Norway. Biography Anders Monsen Askevold was born at Askvoll in Sunnfjord, Norway. He was the second oldest of ten siblings. His father, Mons Andersson Askevold 1806-1889), was a teacher and member of parliament. His early training started at the age of thirteen in Bergen under landscape painter Hans Leganger Reuch (1800-1854). Lars Anders Cardinal Arborelius (; born 24 September 1949) is a Swedish Catholic cardinal. He has been Bishop of Stockholm since 1998.
