An Affair
''An Affair'' () is a 1998 South Korean film. The quiet film about a woman who falls in love with her sister's fiancé was the seventh-highest-grossing Korean film of 1998 and won the Best Asian Film award at the 1999 Newport Beach International Film Festival. Plot Seo-hyun is an ordinary housewife in her late thirties with a ten-year-old son and a successful architect husband. For Seo-hyun, life is a series of banal routines, but she is well provided with upper class comforts. Her sheltered life is suddenly threatened with the appearance of U-in, her much younger sister's attractive new fiancé. U-in approaches Seo-hyun and attraction evolves into a passionate affair. Seo-hyun is aware that falling for the younger man will destroy her and her family, but she cannot help herself and the new feelings that are stirring within... E J-yong
E J-yong (; born September 5, 1966) is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. His feature films include ''An Affair'' (1998), '' Untold Scandal'' (2003), '' Dasepo Naughty Girls'' (2006), and '' Actresses'' (2009). Early life E J-yong (his preferred stylized, phonetic spelling; more conventionally romanized as Lee Jae-yong) was born in Daejeon, South Chungcheong Province in 1966. Kim Dae-woo
Kim Dae-woo (born 1962) is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. Kim started his filmmaking career by winning the 1991 Korean Film Council Screenplay Contest. He was an accomplished screenwriter with a number of hit scripts, including ''The Girl for Love and The One for Marriage'' (1993), ''An Affair'' (1998), ''Rainbow Trout'' (1999), and ''Untold Scandal'' (2003). Newport Beach International Film Festival
The Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) is an annual film festival in Newport Beach, California, typically held in late April. In 2022, it was announced that the festival have permanently changed its date to be held in October, as the festival began positioning itself for Oscar season.
