Amparo Grisales
Amparo Grisales de Tessarolo (born Amparo Grisales Patiño September 19, 1956) is a Colombian actress. Best known for her role as Lucrecia Rivas in '' The Mafia Dolls.'' Also starred in the 2007 Telemundo serial ''Madre Luna'' ("''Mother Moon''"). She also appeared with tenor Plácido Domingo in a music video of the Peruvian song, "La Flor de la Canela", from his 1994 Grammy-nominated album, ''De Mi Alma Latina''. Career Grisales acted in telenovelas ''En cuerpo ajeno'' and ''La sombra del deseo.'' Manizales () is a city in central Colombia. It is the capital of the Department of Caldas, and lies near the Nevado del Ruiz volcano. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include ''teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. ''De Mi Alma Latina'' (also known as ''From My Latin Soul'') is a 1994 Latin music album by Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo. It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album of the year. Most of the tracks on the album are medleys of, in the words of one author, "some of the Latino world's most memorable melodies." The only new composition on the album, "De México a Buenos Aires", was written by Domingo's son Plácido Domingo Jr. All the songs are in Spanish, except for "Manhã de Carnaval" and "Aquarela do Brasil", which are in Portuguese.
