American Professional Basketball League
The American Professional Basketball League (APBL) was a semi-professional men's basketball league that began play in 2010. Originally known as the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League (ACPBL), the league changed its name before the 2012–13 season. The league ceased operations after the 2019 season. Teams were located up and down the Atlantic Coast from New York to Northern Virginia. History Formed in 2010 as the ACPBL, the league initially was made up of two teams (Buffalo Stampede, Washington GreenHawks) formerly of the Premier Basketball League, three teams (Beltway Bombers, Garden State Rebels, Tru Hope Trailblazers) formerly of the Eastern Basketball Alliance, and three expansion teams (Hudson Valley Kingz, New York Lions, Westchester Wildkatz). Basketball
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three. After a foul, timed play stops and the player fouled or designated to shoot a technical foul is given one, two or three one-point free throws. Chaz Williams
Chaz Calvaron Williams (born April 6, 1991) is an American professional basketball player for Njarðvík of the Úrvalsdeild karla. He played college basketball for University of Massachusetts (UMass) and was considered one of the top point guards in the nation for the 2013–14 season. College career Williams was a two-time conference player of the year at Bishop Ford High School in Brooklyn, New York. He committed to nearby Hofstra University and moved quickly into the starting lineup. He averaged 9.8 points and 4.2 assists per game and was named to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Freshman team. Following an offseason which saw head coach Tom Pecora leave Hofstra, Williams transferred to UMass. After sitting out the 2010–11 season as a transfer, Williams led the Minutemen to a 25 win season in 2011–12.
