''America Is Dying Slowly'' (a backronym for AIDS) is a compilation album that is the eighth in the Red Hot AIDS Benefit Series recorded by the Red Hot Organization. It featured collaborations from several hip hop acts, including Mobb Deep, De La Soul, Coolio, Biz Markie, Chubb Rock, The Lost Boyz, Pete Rock, Common and Wu-Tang Clan. Dubbed “a masterpiece” by ''The Source'' on its release, ''AIDS'' was one of the first of such efforts aimed at reaching out to African American men through pop culture. Red Hot Organization (RHO) is a not-for-profit, 501(c) 3, international organization dedicated to fighting AIDS through pop culture. Since its inception in 1989, over 400 artists, producers and directors have contributed to over 15 compilation albums, related television programs and media events to raise donations totaling more than 10 million dollars for HIV / AIDS relief and awareness around the world. The Red Hot Organization Collection was donated to Fales Library in New York City in 2006. Robert Thomas Christgau ( ; born April 18, 1942) is an American music journalist and essayist. Lost Boyz are an American hip hop group from Queens, New York, consisting of MC Mr. Cheeks, Freaky Tah, and K Chrys. Originally in the early 90's LB consisted of Mr. Cheeks, Freaky Tah, Spigg Nice, and Pretty Lou. Member K Chrys or “Kacey Chrysler” has been in ongoing social media controversy dating back to 2018. Dozens of women have come forward claiming that Chrysler had been predatory while providing screenshots of him soliciting nude photos from them. Chrysler’s tactic appears to be privately messaging women with the simple sentence “R U signed?” or the champagne glass emoji. Richard Simpson, also known as Chubb Rock (born May 28, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York) is a New York-based rapper who released several successful hip hop albums in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Mobb Deep was an American hip hop duo from New York City. The duo consisted of rappers Prodigy and Havoc.
