Amber Bondin
Amber Bondin (born 26 May 1991), also known as simply Amber, is a Malta, Maltese singer. The dynamic vocal tone of Maltese born performer Amber became widely recognized following her representation of Malta in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. Since scooping the maximum 12 points Amber has continued to develop her unique style and sound. Amber has taken to the stage across Europe performing at sell out shows in the UK, Austria, Malta and Russia whilst duetting with names such as Joseph Calleja alongside Ronan Keating, Gigi D’Alessio as well as Suor Cristina, winner of 'The Voice Italy' 2014. In 2015 Amber performed during the CHOGM opening ceremony held in Malta, in front of all the commonwealth heads of states including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles. Kalkara
Kalkara ( mt, Il-Kalkara) is a village in the South Eastern Region of Malta, with a population of 3,014 as of March 2014. The name is derived from the Latin word for lime (Calce), and it is believed that there was a lime kiln present there since Roman times. Kalkara forms part of the inner harbour area and occupies the area around Kalkara Creek. The town has its own Local Council and is bordered by the cities of Birgu and Żabbar, as well as the town of Xgħajra. History The village of Kalkara developed as a small fishing community around the sheltered inlet of Kalkara Creek. Some historians believe that the land that today is known as Kalkara, was one of the first to be inhabited by the initial dwellers of Malta that came from nearby island of Sicily. Chameleon (Ira Losco Song)
Malta participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Walk on Water" written by Lisa Desmond, Tim Larsson, Tobias Lundgren, Molly Pettersson Hammar and Ira Losco. Ira Losco
Ira Losco M.Q.R. (born 31 July 1981) is a Maltese pop singer. Her career breakthrough came in 2002, when she represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the song "7th Wonder". She placed second in the competition, Malta's best ever result. Fourteen years later, she returned and represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song " Walk on Water", placing twelfth. Losco has released six studio albums so far in her career and is one of the most successful Maltese musicians of all time. In 2018, she served as a judge on the inaugural season of ''X Factor Malta''. She returned to serve as a judge in 2019. The Eurovision Song Contest 2015 was the 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Firelight (band)
Firelight is a pop/folk-band founded in 2013 by vocalist Richard Edwards Micallef in Malta. Michelle Mifsud (vocals and piano), Wayne Williams (vocals, keys and guitar) and Daniel (guitars) are all Richard's siblings. The band is completed by Tony Polidano (bass) and Leslie Decesare (drums). Firelight's style is a mix of pop, rock, country and folk. Richard plays the Appalachian dulcimer, an American traditional instrument related to the European zither. Firelight represented Malta in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark with their song "Coming Home", placing 23rd out of 26 with 32 points, receiving 12 points from the jury selections from Armenia and the UK..
