Buenos Aires English High School
The Buenos Aires English High School, also known for its abbreviation BAEHS, is a bilingual school established in Belgrano, Buenos Aires in 1884 by Alexander Watson Hutton, considered "the father" of Argentine football. Watson Hutton was born in Scotland and emigrated to Argentina in 1882. The first educational institution where he worked was St. Andrew's Scots School for two years. As a keen sportsman, Watson Hutton believed that sports were of fundamental importance in education. Nevertheless, he resigned a short while later due to St. Andrew's (which would later win the first Argentine Primera División championship in 1891) not having funds to acquire sports facilities, which were considered by Hutton as an essential component of his teaching methods. 1893 Argentine Primera División
The 1893 Primera División was the 2nd season in top-flight football in Argentina and the first organized by current Argentine Football Association, established that same year by Alexander Watson Hutton, considered "the father" of Argentine football. Juan McKechnie
Juan McKechnie (c.1870-?) was an Argentine association football goalkeeper that spent most of his career playing for legendary team Alumni, where he won six titles. Career McKechnie was born in Buenos Aires, member of a family of Scottish origin. He began his career in 1891 in Alumni. The next team in which he played was Lomas Academy, winning the Argentine Primera División championship of 1896. In 1897, McKechnie played in Lobos Athletic Club, team where he came runner-up in 1898 and 1899, where the team lost the final match to Belgrano Athletic Club. In 1900, he moved to Buenos Aires English High School (then renamed "Alumni") that would win a large number of titles until its dissolution in 1911. Club Atlético Banfield is an Argentine sports club based in the Banfield district of Greater Buenos Aires. It was founded on 21 January 1896, by the British–origin inhabitants of that city (mostly English, and some Scots and Irish). Coghlan is a '' barrio'' (neighbourhood), of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is the name of a middle class neighbourhood located between Belgrano, Saavedra, Núñez and Villa Urquiza; it was originally inhabited by Irish and English immigrants. The 1887 sale of 30 hectares (75 acres) of land to the Mitre Railway led to the railway's extension under the direction of Irish Argentine engineer John Coghlan, in whose honor the train station was named. Lobos Athletic Club
Lobos Athletic Club is an Argentine sports club based in the city of Lobos, Buenos Aires. Although other sports were practised at the club, Lobos Athletic is mostly known for its football team, who took part in the Primera División championships until its disaffection, being runner-up in 1898 and 1899. Nowadays Lobos AC plays in "Liga Lobense de Fútbol", a regional league of Buenos Aires Province. Apart from football, other sports sections of the club are field hockey, basketball and volleyball.
