The Altamonte Springs Boom are a wood bat collegiate summer baseball league team located in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The team is a member of the Florida Collegiate Summer League (FCSL) and plays its home games at Lake Brantley High School Lake Brantley High School (LBHS) is located in Altamonte Springs, Florida, a suburban community approximately 13 miles (20 km) north of Orlando. It is a public high school serving grade levels 9–12 in Seminole County, FL, operated by Se ... Stadium. The club's inaugural season took place in 2015. The next season, the Boom finished with a record of 22–19, earning the league's second seed. The team then won a best-of-three playoff series against the DeLand Suns and defeated the Sanford River Rats in the title game to win their first FCSL championship, their only title to date. Altamonte Springs, Florida
Altamonte Springs is a suburban city in central Florida in Seminole County, Florida, United States, which had a population of 46,231 at the 2020 United States Census. The city is in the northern suburbs of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area, which the United States Census Bureau estimated had a population of 2,054,574 in 2008. Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Sanford River Rats
The Sanford River Rats are a wood bat collegiate summer baseball league team located in Sanford, Florida. The team is a member of the Florida Collegiate Summer League (FCSL) and plays its home games at Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium. The team is an inaugural member of the FCSL. History The River Rats were one of the inaugural teams of the FCSL. The team won the FCSL championship in the league's inaugural 2004 season and was the runner-up in the following 2005 season. After that, the team went into a bit of a slide, finishing fifth in 2006, fifth in 2007, and sixth in 2008. In 2009, the Rats finished with a 23-17 record, good enough for a 2nd-place finish. The Leesburg Lightning are a wood bat collegiate summer baseball league team located in Leesburg, Florida. The team is a member of the Florida Collegiate Summer League (FCSL) and plays its home games at Pat Thomas Stadium. The team joined the FCSL in the 2007 season, and won their first championship the same year. They have won two more titles since. The Lightning are currently the only FCSL team to offer free admission to home games. History The Lightning joined the FCSL in 2007 as an expansion team. According to league officials, Leesburg was a natural pick due to its rich baseball history. This gave the league five franchises.
