All That Jazz (song)
"All That Jazz" (alternatively "And All That Jazz") is a song from the 1975 musical ''Chicago''. It has music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, and is the opening song of the musical. The title of the 1979 film, starring Roy Scheider as a character strongly resembling choreographer/stage and film director Bob Fosse, is derived from the song. Composition Opus, Book 3 by Rob Blythe notes the song uses the 7th chord to create a unique musical effect. Analysis ''Popular Culture: Introductory Perspectives'' postulated that the song encapsulated the "importance of jazz in the constitution of pop culture". ''Chicago'' is a 1975 American musical with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. Set in Chicago in the jazz age, the musical is based on a 1926 play of the same title by reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins, about actual criminals and the crimes on which she reported. The story is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice and the concept of the "celebrity criminal". The original Broadway production opened in 1975 at the 46th Street Theatre and ran for 936 performances, until 1977. ''America's Best Dance Crew'', often abbreviated as ''ABDC'', was an American competitive dance reality TV, reality television series that features both national and international dance crews. The show was produced by singer, record producer, and former ''American Idol'' judge Randy Jackson. The series premiered on February 7, 2008, on MTV. It was originally developed for NBC as ''World Moves''. The show was hosted by actor Mario Lopez, and featured television personality Layla Kayleigh as the backstage correspondent. Fountains of Bellagio is a free attraction at the Bellagio resort, located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It consists of a musical fountain show performed in an man-made lake in front of the resort. The show uses 1,214 water nozzles and 4,792 lights. The fountains shoot as high as 460 feet. Stages are sometimes built on the lake to host events, such as musical performances, that incorporate the fountain show. It was conceived by owner Steve Wynn, and built by the design firm WET.
