Alfredo Barnechea
Isaac Alfredo Barnechea García (born 19 May 1952) is a Peruvian journalist and politician. In the 2016 Peruvian general election, 2016 elections, he ran for President of Peru under the Popular Action (Peru), Acción Popular party, finishing in fourth place. He was among the potential candidates for the 2021 Peruvian general election, 2021 general election until he withdrew his pre-candidacy in November 2020. The nomination was subsequently won by Yonhy Lescano. Education In 1992, he earned a Master's in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. After obtaining his degree, he worked at the Inter-American Development Bank and the Andean Community. Journalistic career As a journalist, he hosted the television interview program titled "Direct Contact", which ran from 1978 to 1980. The show was overseen by the military dictatorship until 1980. Congress Of The Republic Of Peru
The Congress of the Republic of Peru ( es, Congreso de la República) is the unicameral body that assumes legislative power in Peru. Congress' composition is established by Chapter I of Title IV of the Constitution of Peru. Congress is composed of representatives who sit in congressional districts allocated to each region, as well as two special districts, Lima Province and Peruvian citizens living abroad, on a basis of population as measured by the Peruvian Census in multi-member districts. The number of voting representatives is fixed by the Constitution at 130. Pursuant to the 2017 Census, the largest delegation is that of Lima Province, with 36 representatives.
