Alfonso Sena
Alfonso Sena Manterola (5 October 1886 - 6 August 1958) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender for Real Sociedad. He is one of the most important figures in the amateur beginnings of Real Sociedad from San Sebastián, having been the fundamental head behind the foundation of its predecessors, Club Ciclista in 1908, and of Real Sociedad itself on 1909. His brothers, Miguel and Gregorio, also played for Real Sociedad. Biography Born in San Sebastián, he began his career in 1904, aged just 18, at his hometown club San Sebastián Recreation Club, which had just been founded to become the very first football club in San Sebastián. Together with Juan Arzuaga, he was part of the Recreation side that played in the 1905 Copa del Rey. Manuel Prast
Manuel Prast Rodríguez de Llano was a footballer who played as a striker for Madrid FC between 1904–1908 and 1912–1914. He was a historical member of Madrid FC, playing a pivotal role in Madrid's four back-to-back Copa del Rey titles between 1905 and 1908, playing in all the finals and remarkably, netting in three of them, including the winning goals in the finals of 1905 and 1907 and a brace in the 1906. After retiring he become a referee and he was also an entrepreneur and owner of the family business called Confitería Prast, a confectionery founded by his father and which he took care of together with his brothers. The Campeonato de España–Copa de Su Majestad el Rey, commonly known as Copa del Rey or simply La Copa and formerly known as Copa del Presidente de la República (1932–36) and Copa del Generalísimo (1939–76), is an annual knockout football competition in Spanish football, organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The 1913 Copa del Rey comprised two different competitions held the same year. Due to disagreements between the Royal Spanish Football Federation ( es, Real Federación Española de Fútbol, RFEF) and some clubs, in 1913 two parallel competitions were held: an "official", organized by the FEF (Federación Española de Fútbol), in Madrid and an "unofficial", organized by the UECF (Unión Española de Clubes de Fútbol), in Barcelona. The Copa del Rey 1910 comprised two different competitions held the same year. José Berraondo
José Angel Berraondo Insausti (born 4 November 1878 in San Sebastián and died 11 April 1950) was a Spanish footballer, referee and manager. He was one of the most important figures of Spain's football at the beginning and middle of the 20th century, as a player, captain, club founder, manager, referee, director, vice-president and even as a national coach. Berraondo was one of the most important figures in the amateur beginnings of Real Madrid, then known as ''Madrid CF'', serving as its captain from 1904 until 1909, and thus playing a crucial role in Madrid's four consecutive Copa del Rey titles between 1905 and 1908. 1909 Copa Del Rey Final
The 1909 Copa del Rey Final was the 7th final of the Spanish cup competition, the Copa del Rey. The final was played at Campo de O'Donnell in Madrid on 8 April 1909. The match was won by Club Ciclista, who beat Español de Madrid 3–1. The Ciclista goals were scored by George McGuinness, Charles Simmons and Miguel Sena, with José Giralt reducing the deficit for Español de Madrid late on. The final was played under a heavy downpour and with low temperatures. The match was tough and although Español de Madrid took the initiative, their attack collided again and again with the San Sebastian defense that did take advantage of the opportunities they enjoyed. Club Español De Madrid
Club Español de Madrid was a Spanish football club based in Madrid. The club was originally formed in 1901 after a conflict between Sky Football members caused some of them to leave and create a new club. Español de Madrid collapsed in the summer of 1903, but was refounded a few months later by players from a split of Madrid FC. Español de Madrid was subsequently the Campeonato Regional Centro champions in both 1904 and 1909, and reached three Copa del Rey finals in 1904, 1909 and 1910, which all ended in losses. The 1909 Copa del Rey was the 7th staging of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. The competition started on 4 April 1909, and concluded on 8 April 1909, with the final, held at the O'Donnell, in Madrid, in which Club Ciclista de San Sebastián lifted the trophy for the first time ever with a 3–1 victory over Español Madrid. The Basque goalscorers were George McGuinness, Charles Simmons and Miguel Sena. Club Ciclista de San Sebastián are the predecessors of Real Sociedad.
