Alexander Woo
Alexander Woo is an American writer and producer for television. Biography Screenwriting Alexander Woo is best known for writing several episodes of the HBO drama series ''True Blood''. In an interview, Woo describes the "True Blood" writing room: "Every writer's room is different. True Blood has a relatively small writing team, so the chemistry between the writers is crucial to the style and tone of the show. It's kind of like being on a jury, where you are sequestered together for long hours and many days and you figure things out together. Our team is a wonderful group of people, and even though the hours are long we all work really well and the hours just fly by." Among Woo's credits for the show was a first-season episode that was notable for the "AIDS burger" monologue made famous by actor Nelsan Ellis. True Blood
''True Blood'' is an American fantasy horror drama television series produced and created by Alan Ball. It is based on '' The Southern Vampire Mysteries'', a series of novels by Charlaine Harris. Nelsan Ellis
Nelsan Ellis (November 30, 1977 – July 8, 2017) was an American actor and playwright. He achieved critical acclaim for his portrayal of Lafayette Reynolds in the HBO television series ''True Blood'' (2008–2014), for which he won a Satellite Award from the International Press Academy, among other accolades. He also starred as Shinwell Johnson in ''Elementary'' from 2016 to 2017, and played a variety of guest roles in other television series, including '' Veronica Mars'' and ''Without a Trace.'' In addition to his television work, Ellis appeared in several feature films throughout his career.
