Alex Bunbury
Alexander Bunbury (born 18 June 1967) is a Canadian former professional soccer player who played as a striker. He played mainly for Marítimo in Portugal during a 13-year professional career, and represented the Canadian national team during 11 years. In 2000, Bunbury became a manager. Club career Born in Plaisance, Guyana, Bunbury started playing professionally with the Hamilton Steelers where he was managed by John Charles, also having one-year spells in the Canadian Soccer League with the Toronto Blizzard and Montreal Supra. In 1993, after an unassuming season for West Ham United (only six appearances overall), he moved to Portugal's C.S. Marítimo, going on to become the club's all-time leading goalscorer in the Primeira Liga with 59 goals. Paul Dolan (soccer)
Kenneth Paul Dolan (born April 16, 1966) is a former Canadian national team and Canadian Soccer League goalkeeper. He is currently the colour commentator for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on ''MLS on TSN.'' He was inducted into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame in 2004. Club career Dolan had a trial with Notts County of England's Football League following the 1986 World Cup, but returned to Canada to continue his career in the Canadian Soccer League, playing for Vancouver 86ers and Hamilton Steelers and winning the CSL championship with the 86ers in 1990 and 1991. 1989 FIFA Futsal World Championship
The 1989 FIFA Futsal World Championship was the first ever FIFA Futsal World Championship, the quadrennial international futsal championship contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. The Merlion Cup was an invitational football tournament that was held in Singapore annually from 1982–1986, in 1992, 2009 and 2019. Participants included full national sides, Olympic sides, Invitational XI's and club teams. After the 1986 tournament, four Canadian players ( Igor Vrablic, Hector Marinaro, David Norman and Chris Chueden) were suspended after a match-fixing scandal. History The inaugural Merlion Cup was held in 1982 and was held annually until 1986.
