Alain Barrière
Alain Barrière (; born Alain Bellec; 18 November 1935 – 18 December 2019) was a French singer, who was active from the 1950s until his death and was known for participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 1963. Early life After growing up in a small town on the coast of Brittany, in 1955 Barrière enrolled in the École nationale supérieure d'arts et métiers in Angers. As a student he bought a guitar and started to write songs. After graduating in engineering in 1960, he moved to Paris to take up employment, and started to perform in the evenings at small clubs around the capital. He won a song contest in 1961 with the self-penned song "Cathy"; his style was chanson-based with no concession to the burgeoning yé-yé scene, but nonetheless he was soon signed to a recording contract and started to release singles regularly, enabling him to give up his job and make at least a modest living from music. La Trinité-sur-Mer
La Trinité-sur-Mer (; br, An Drinded-Karnag) is a commune in the Morbihan department in Brittany, in north-western France. Inhabitants of La Trinité-sur-Mer are called ''Trinitains''. It is located east of Carnac. The town is primarily a port, with a seaside quay dotted by numerous seafood restaurants. The town is also known for its watersport competitions. Separated from the well known commune of Carnac in 1864, several of the famous neolithic standing stones in the Carnac stones fall within its boundaries, including the dolmens of Kerdeneven and Kermarquer, and the Petit-Ménec Alignments. Landmarks The ''Pont de Kerisper'' connects the commune to the neighbouring Saint-Philibert. Rachel Ros (born 11 August 1942 in Cavaillon, Vaucluse) is a French singer best known in Europe for representing France in the Eurovision Song Contest 1964. Biography Before starting her musical career, she worked as a lift girl in Paris and in the mail administration of a record label. She entered a singing competition organised by Mireille Hartuch who had invited Rachel to her televised show . She went on to sign a contract with the Barclay Records label, and released her first (45 rpm) recording entitled "" in 1963. In 1964, she represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen with her entry called "", written by Pierre Cour and André Popp, which was her greatest hit.
