Al Shimasiyah
Al-Shamasiyah Governorate is one of the governorates of the Al-Qassim region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and it is the eastern front of Al-Qassim. The governorate is famous for its cultivation, especially palm trees, and is considered a tourist destination for residents and visitors to the area in the spring. Administrative division The governorate is classified as Category B, and a number of villages and centers are affiliated to it. The governor is Fahd bin Radi Al-Radi. Shammasiya has a population of approximately 15,000. The Governorates of Saudi Arabia, officially the Governorates of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ( ar, محافظات المملكة العربية السعودية) are the 136 governorates (second-level administrative division) that form the 13 emirates of Saudi Arabia. The governorates are classified into three categories according to the availability of services, population, geographical, security considerations, environmental conditions, and means of transportation, as provided by the Third Article of the Regions' System, issued on 27 Sha'baan 1412 AH (March 2, 1992) by Royal Order A/92, amended by Royal Order No. A/21 on 30 Rabi' al-Awal 1414 AH (September 17, 1993). Al-Qassim Region
The Qassim Province ( ar, منطقة القصيم ' , Najdi Arabic: ), also known as the Qassim Region, is one of the 13 provinces of Saudi Arabia. Located at the heart of the country near the geographic center of the Arabian Peninsula, it has a population of 1,370,727 and an area of 58,046 km². It is known to be the "alimental basket" of the country, for its agricultural assets. Al-Qassim has the lowest share of population living below local poverty line in Saudi Arabia. It is the seventh most populated region in the country after Jizan and the fifth most densely populated. It has more than 400 cities, towns, villages, and Bedouin settlements, ten of which are recognized as governorates. Its capital city is Buraydah, which is inhabited by approximately 60% of the region's total population.
