Afyon Belediye S.K., commonly known as Afyon Belediye or simply Afyon, for sponsorship reasons HDI Sigorta Afyon Belediye, is a Turkish professional basketball club based in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey. The club currently plays in the Turkish Basketball First League (TBL). Their home arena is Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu Sports Hall with a capacity of 2,833 seats. Formerly known as Afyonkarahisar Belediyespor, the team was founded and sponsored by Afyonkarahisar, Afyonkarahisar Municipality in 2013. Their second season of Turkish Basketball League they finished eighth and competed in the play-offs. In 2018, the club promoted to the first-tier Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL) for the first time after winning the TBL promotion play-offs. Turkish Basketball First League
The Turkish Basketball First League, also called TBL, is the second-tier level league of professional club basketball in Turkey. The league was previously known as Turkish Basketball Second League (TB2L). Format and promotion and relegation There are a total of 16 teams participating in the league for the ''2019–20 TBL season''. Each team plays each other in their group twice during the regular season. Team finishes at first place promotes to the top-tier level Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL) for the next season, teams ranked 2nd place to 9th place, compete in playoff format and winner of the playoff also promotes. He played among hearing players at the highest level in Europe, despite being hearing impairment, deaf since birth.
