''Afrika'', known as ''Hakuna Matata'' in Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Southeast Asia, is a photography and safari simulation video game for the PlayStation 3. Developed by Rhino Studios and published by Natsume, the game was first announced in a promotional video during the Sony press conference at E3 2006. ''Afrika'' has been referred to as being similar to the Nintendo 64 title '' Pokémon Snap''. Gameplay In ''Afrika'', the player assumes the role of a photojournalist hired to take images of various animals in Africa, as the name indicates. Gameplay is mission-driven; players receive e-mails at the base camp instructing them to which animals they must photograph. Players may then travel by foot, car, or hot air balloon to the areas where the requested animals are found in order to photograph them. The in-game camera is controlled by the Sixaxis. ''Afrika'' is a 1973 Italian film directed by Alberto Cavallone. At the center of the story is a homosexual relationship set in Africa. Plot Philippe, a bisexual painter, is living through a crisis. He is torn between his love for his wife and his attraction for young men. In Ethiopia, he meets Frank, a young homosexual, falls in love with him and takes him in as his secretary, making him part of the family like he has done with other young men. In the end, he abandons Frank just as he has undergone a sex change. The young man's disappointment causes him to commit suicide by a bullet to his temple, with the aid of his sister, who - pressured by her macho husband - was not able to live with her brother's homosexuality. Afrika (artist)
Sergei Bugaev "Afrika" (born 28 March 1966) is a Russian artist. He was born in Novorossiysk, on the Black Sea, and in the early 1980s moved to Leningrad, where he met and became friends with leaders of the art scene there, such as the painter Timur Novikov and musician Boris Grebenshchikov. Shortly thereafter he adopted the artistic moniker "Afrika" and began working as an artist himself. In 1987 he starred as Bananan, the lead character in the groundbreakingly avant garde film '' Assa'' by Russian film director Sergei Solovyov. Afrika works mainly in performance and installation art. His 1993 project "Krimania" took the form of an initial performance, which involved the artist spending three weeks in a mental institution in Simferopol, Crimea, at the end of which he staged an exhibition for the patients and staff of the hospital. Lance Taylor (born on April 17, 1957), also known as Afrika Bambaataa (), is an American DJ, rapper, and producer from the South Bronx, New York. He is notable for releasing a series of genre-defining electro tracks in the 1980s that influenced the development of hip hop culture. Afrika Bambaataa is one of the originators of breakbeat DJing. Through his co-opting of the street gang the Black Spades into the music and culture-oriented Universal Zulu Nation, he has helped spread hip hop culture throughout the world. In May 2016, Bambaataa left his position as head of The Zulu Nation due to multiple allegations of child sexual abuse dating as far back as the 1970s. Cecil Sebastian Afrika (born 3 March 1988) is a South African rugby sevens player for the South Africa national team, where he plays at flyhalf. He also plays for the San Diego Legion of Major League Rugby (MLR). Afrika was a member of the South African Sevens team that won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Ismail Joubert (7 December 1920 – 23 December 2002), commonly known as Tatamkhulu Afrika, which is Xhosa for ''Grandfather Africa'', was a South African poet and writer. His first novel, ''Broken Earth'' was published when he was seventeen (under his "Methodist name"), but it was over fifty years until his next publication, a collection of verse entitled ''Nine Lives''. He won numerous literary awards including the gold Molteno Award for lifetime services to South African literature, and in 1996 his works were translated into French. His autobiography, ''Mr Chameleon'', was published posthumously in 2005. ''Afrika'' (Russian - ''Африка'') was a sail- and steam-powered second-class cruiser of the Imperial Russian Navy. She was 2775 tonnes, 83 m long, 11.06 m in the beam and had four boilers powering a single vertical triple expansion steam engine. Her maximum speed was 12.75 knots, whilst her crew was 148 sailors and 12 officers. Those who served aboard her included Alexey Abaza and Hans William von Fersen. Built by John Roach and Sons at the Delaware River Iron Ship Building and Engine Works shipyard in Chester, Pennsylvania, she was launched in May 1877 under the name ''Saratoga''. She was acquired by Russia exactly a year later for $335,000 and sailed for Europe on 29 December 1878 under her first captain Yevgeni Ivanovich Alekseyev. The Afrika Korps or German Africa Corps (, }; DAK) was the German expeditionary force in Africa during the North African Campaign of World War II. First sent as a holding force to shore up the Italian defense of its African colonies, the formation fought on in Africa, under various appellations, from March 1941 until its surrender in May 1943. The unit's best known commander was Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.
