Adrian Bennett
Adrian Frank Bennett (21 January 1933 – 9 May 2006) was an Australian politician. Born in Perth, Western Australia, he was educated at Catholic schools before becoming a transport worker. He was secretary of the Transport Workers' Union and also sat on the councils of Canning Shire and its successor Canning Town. In 1969, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Swan, defeating sitting Liberal member Richard Cleaver. He held the seat until his defeat in 1975. Bennett died in 2006. Division Of Swan
The Division of Swan is an Australian electoral division located in Western Australia. Swan is a marginal electorate that has swung between both major political parties in the past two decades. It extends across the Swan River from central Perth, and covers most of the area between the Swan and Canning Rivers. Swan includes the suburbs of South Perth, Como, Victoria Park, Rivervale, Belmont, High Wycombe, Maida Vale, Forrestfield and Wattle Grove. Swan includes a mix of incomes and housing types, from low-price flats to affluent suburbs with Swan River views. The electorate includes the campus of Curtin University, the Welshpool and Kewdale industrial areas, and Perth Airport. Swan covers 151 sq. kilometers. Curtin Labor Alliance
The Curtin Labor Alliance was a minor Australian political coalition that was formed between two minor right-wing groups, the Citizens Electoral Council (CEC) and the Western Australian Municipal Employees' Union, in 2001. The name sparked outrage from the Australian Labor Party both for confusing electors and invoking former Australian Labor Prime Minister John Curtin. The Alliance claimed that Curtin was a nationalist, and that they represented the views that he would have espoused if he was alive. The Alliance was accused by Labor politicians of racism and extremist views, which were denied by the leader of the CEC, Craig Isherwood. It fielded candidates at the 2001 federal election (including Adrian Bennett, who was the Labor member for Swan from 1969 to 1975), but achieved only mediocre results. The Australian Citizens Party (ACP), formerly the Citizens Electoral Council of Australia (CEC), is a minor political party in Australia affiliated with the international LaRouche Movement which was led by American political activist and conspiracy theorist Lyndon LaRouche. The party has pushed conspiracy theories, including that international action on climate change and indigenous land rights are part of a conscious fraud masterminded by Prince Philip, as part of the British Royal Family’s scheme to depopulate the planet. Lyndon Hermyle LaRouche Jr. (September 8, 1922 – February 12, 2019) was an American political activist who founded the LaRouche movement and its main organization the National Caucus of Labor Committees (NCLC). He was a prominent conspiracy theorist and perennial presidential candidate. He began in far-left politics but in the 1970s moved to the far right. His movement is sometimes described as or likened to a cult. Convicted of fraud, he served five years in prison from 1989 to 1994. Richard Cleaver (16 August 1917 – 25 October 2006) was an Australian politician. Born in Perth, Western Australia, he was educated at Perth Modern School before becoming a chartered secretary and accountant, and then a management consultant. He served in the military 1941–1946. In 1955, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Swan Swans are birds of the family Anatidae within the genus ''Cygnus''.
