Admiral (sportswear)
Admiral is one of the oldest England, English sportswear brands, with a manufacturing emphasis on clothing for association football. Founded in 1914 in Leicester, Admiral was originally an undergarment brand but switched to the manufacture of apparel for sports that have included cricket, cycling and sport of athletics, athletics, as well as football. The Admiral logo was formally registered with the trademark office on 6 September 1922. The company reached the peak of its success in the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s through a series of football team sponsorships. Some of the teams most notably sponsored by Admiral were the England national football team, England national team, Leeds United F.C., Leeds United, Manchester United FC, Manchester United, Kerala Blasters F.C., Kerala Blasters and some teams of the now-defunct North American Soccer League (1968–1984), NASL.

Sportswear or activewear is clothing, including footwear, worn for sport or physical exercise. Sport-specific clothing is worn for most sports and physical exercise, for practical, comfort or safety reasons. Typical sport-specific garments include tracksuits, shorts, T-shirts and polo shirts. In some sports, protective gear may need to be worn, such as helmets or American football body armour.
