Achilleas Mamatziolas
Achilleas Mamatziolas ( el, Αχιλλέας Μαματζιόλας; born November 12, 1971 in Thessaloniki), is a retired Greek professional basketball player. Professional career Mamatziolas started his career from the amateur team Propontida Thessaloniki. In 1989 he signed with PAOK. He played eight years with PAOK and he won the 1990–91 FIBA European Cup Winners' Cup, 1 Greek League (1992), the 1993–94 FIBA Korać Cup, and 1 Greek Cup (1995). His best game in his career was a play-off game against Panathinaikos in 1997. PAOK won the game with 90-85, and Mamatziolas end the game with 29 points and 100% hit. He has 2/2 free throws, 6/6 two-points, and 5/5 three-points. Mamatziolas moved to Iraklis the same year, as an exchange for Lefteris Kakiousis transfer. Panathinaikos Football Club B, known as Panathinaikos B, ( Greek: ΠΑΕ Παναθηναϊκός B) is a Greek football club based in Athens, Greece. Founded in 2021, they play as the reserve team of Panathinaikos in the Super League Greece 2. Panathinaikos B is one of four reserve teams givens approval from the EPO ( Hellenic Football Association) to play in the second division. Reserve teams must play a league below their main side, therefore, Panathinaikos B are ineligible for promotion to the Super League Greece. They cannot play in the Greek Cup either. Greek National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings. Greece appeared eight times at the FIBA World Cup, their best performance coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Greece took part the in the EuroBasket 28 times, winning the tournament twice; while also coming away with one silver (1989) as well as two bronze medals (1949, 2009). Eleftherios "Lefteris" Kakiousis ( el, Ελευθέριος "Λευτέρης" Κακιούσης; born 7 June 1968 in Thessaloniki, Greece) is a retired Greek professional basketball player and a professional basketball coach. He played at the point guard and shooting guard positions. Playing career Clubs Kakiousis began his professional club career in 1987, with Iraklis. His moved to PAOK in 1997 would be followed by hey winning the Greek Basketball Cup in 1999. He finished his playing career with Makedonikos.
