The Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti ("Albertina Academy of Fine Arts") is an institution of higher education in Turin, Italy History In the first half of the seventeenth century, there was a "University of Painters, Sculptors and Architects" in Turin which in 1652 became the Compagnia di San Luca. In 1678 it was formally refounded as the Academy of Painters, Sculptors and Architects (''Accademia dei Pittori, Scultori e Architetti'') by Marie Jeanne of Savoy, inspired by the Académie Royale de Paris. The establishment of the Royal Academy of painting and sculpture in 1778, a century after its first foundation, was among the first events that inaugurated the period of reforms of the reign of Victor Amadeus III under a policy of promotion of culture. It was re-established under the name Albertina in 1833 by Charles Albert of Sardinia, who had architect Giuseppe Talucchi design and realize a new building on the former site of the convent of the Church of San Francesco da Paola. ...

Defendente Ferrari
Defendente Ferrari (c. 1480/1485 – c. 1540) was an Italian painter active in Piedmont. His work marks the transition from late Gothic traditions to Renaissance art in the region. Life and work Ferrari was born at Chivasso, near Turin. Here he trained and initially worked in the workshop of Giovanni Martino Spanzotti. Spanzotti had been the pre-eminent painter in western Piedmont after moving to Chivasso c. 1502. Giuseppe Pietro Bagetti
Giuseppe Pietro Bagetti (14 April 1764 – 29 April 1831) was an Italian civil and military architect, as well as painter. He painted landscapes and battle paintings. Biography He was born in Turin. He initially studied music at the Turin Conservatory under Bernardino Ottani, and learned painting from Pietro Giacomo Palmieri (1737–1804). Bagetti was named an architect in 1782 for the Royal University, and began and paint watercolor vedute of coastal locations. In 1792, he began to teach topographic design at the Royal Academy. In 1792, he painted two battle scenes from the recent war between the kingdom of Sardinia and the French Republic: the ''Veduta di Saorgio'' and the ''Veduta del campo di Brois nel contado di Nizza''. Ignazio Collino
Ignazio Collino (1724–1793) was an Italian sculptor, active in the late-Baroque period, mainly in the region of the Piedmont. Biography Collino was born in Turin. Up to the age of 14, he worked under his father, Damẻ, from whom he learned wood carving. Along with his brother, Filippo Collino (ca 1737–1800), Ignazio worked in a restrained formal style, intermediate between Baroque and Neoclassicism. He went to apprentice with the bronze sculptor François Ladotte (Francois Ladatte) and in drawing with Claudio Francesco Beaumont in 1744. With Ladotte, he completed a ''Saint Sebastian''. Cornelis De Wael
Cornelis de Wael (Antwerp, 1592 – Rome, 1667) was a Flemish painter, engraver and merchant who was primarily active in Genoa in Italy. He is known for his genre paintings, battle scenes, history paintings and still lifes. Through his art work, support for Flemish painters working in Italy and role as an art dealer, he played an important role in the artistic exchange between Italy and Flanders in the first half of the 17th century.
