Abdulghaphor Hajjieh
Abdulghaphor Hajjieh ( ar, عبدالغفور حاجيه, born 15 March 1988) is an economist and politician from Kuwait, who served as a board member for the Democratic Forum and the Youth Association of Kuwait. Hajjieh attended Khalid Saud Al Zaid High School, a public high school in Qurain, studied economics at Kuwait University and the University of Kansas, and later joined Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research as an economist and Al Anba Newspaper as a business columnist. He previously worked for the International Monetary Fund, Al Safat Investment Company, and Al Qabas Newspaper. He became involved with the Democratic Forum in 2008 through its affiliate student organization, the Democratic Circle Ticket, and an affiliated youth organization the Youth Association of Kuwait, becoming a Treasurer of the former and Vice President of the latter. Salmiya
Salmiya (Arabic السالمية; transliterated As-Sālmīya(h)) is a city in Hawalli Governorate in Kuwait. Salmiya is administratively divided into 12 blocks. The blocks located closer to the interior of the district tend to be mostly residential, while those located beside the Persian Gulf coastline have a great deal of commercial and up-scale residential real estate. The interior residential areas boast a huge population of foreigners consisting mainly of those from the Indian sub-continent and other Arabs who are not native to the Persian Gulf area. The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), CDH is a United Nations body whose mission is to promote and protect human rights around the world. 2008 Kuwaiti General Election
Early general elections were held in Kuwait on 17 May 2008 after the Emir Sabah Al-Sabah dissolved the National Assembly of Kuwait on 19 March 2008 over constant clashes between the government and the elected MPs. The last elections were held less than two years previously and saw a loose alliance of reformists and Islamists gain almost two thirds of the seats. Nearly 362,000 Kuwaitis were eligible to vote, more than half of them women, and 27 of the 275 candidates were women; none of the female candidates won. New rules introduced for this election have changed the 25 constituencies electing two to five electing 10. Mohammed Al-Abduljader
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Abduljader is a former member of parliament in the Kuwaiti National Assembly representing the second district. Al-Abduljader was the deputy secretary general of the Kuwait Democratic Foundation; a progressive, liberal Kuwaiti political organization that is a strong advocate of civil liberties, and of political and economic reform. Born in 1964, Al-Abduljader studied geopolitics and worked in the Ministry of Finance before being elected to the National Assembly in 2008.
