Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik
Abdul Rahim bin Thamby Chik (born 10 April 1950) is a Malaysian politician. He was the 6th Chief Minister of Malacca from 1982 to 1994. He is a former youth chief of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a major component party of Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He was aligned with Dr. Mahathir Mohamed during the 1987 UMNO General Assembly. Presently he is an Independent politician due to his resignation from UMNO in 2018 and pending his application to join the Malaysian United Indigenous Party or Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU), a component of the new Pakatan Harapan (PH) government coalition. He is also the former Chairman of the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) from 2010 to 2015. The Malay language has a complex system of styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. Masjid Tanah
Masjid Tanah (Chinese: 馬日丹那) is a town and parliamentary constituency in northwestern Malacca, Malaysia, bordering Negeri Sembilan across the Linggi River. History According to local oral folklore, Masjid Tanah was first settled by Minangkabau people along with local Malays from Malacca Sultanate Empire in the 14th-15th centuries. Masjid Tanah once belonged to the state of Naning until the British conquest in 1832 when it was integrated to the Straits Settlement of Malacca. The name of ''Masjid Tanah'' comes from a mosque (''masjid'') that was built from soil (''tanah'') by a sheikh from Gujarat around 1800. This mosque was also maintained by a local named Hj.
