Lieutenant General Abd-Al-Minaam Khaleel ( ar, عبد المنعم خليل‎; 1 April 1921 – 23 March 2022) was a general in the Egyptian Army. Khaleel was born in 1921, and graduated from the Egyptian Military Academy in 1942. He assumed command of the Egyptian 2nd Army during the Yom Kippur War, replacing Major General Saad Mamoun Lieutenant General Mohammed Saad Eddin Mamoun, usually known in English as Saad Mamoun (14 May 1922 – 28 October 2000), was an Egyptian war hero and was the commander of the Egyptian Second Army during the Yom Kippur War. Minya Governorate ( ar, محافظة المنيا ') is one of the governorates of Upper Egypt. Its capital city, Minya, is located on the left bank of the Nile River. Etymology The name originates from the chief city of the governorate, originally known in Sahidic Coptic as ''Tmoone'' and in Bohairic as ''Thmonē'', meaning “the residence”, in reference to a monastery formerly in the area.
