Aatish Ali Taseer (born 27 November 1980) is a British-American writer and journalist. Early life Taseer was born in London, England, to Pakistani businessman and politician Salman Taseer and Indian journalist Tavleen Singh. His parents had a brief extramarital relationship and never married; he was raised by his mother and had no contact with his father until he was aged 21. According to Taseer, his father met his mother during a book promotion trip to India in 1980 and the affair lasted "little more than a week." Khwaja Haider Ali Aatish (1764 –1846) of Lucknow was an Urdu poet. Khwaja Haider Ali Aatish Lakhnawi is one of the giants of Urdu literature. Aatish and Imam Baksh Nasikh were contemporary poets whose rivalry is well known. Both had hundreds of disciples. The era of Aatish-Nasikh was a golden era for Urdu poetry in Lucknow. Aatish is mostly known for his ghazals, and for his amazing and different style of poetry. Life His ancestors had moved from Delhi to Lucknow. His focus on subjective experience, examining how people retain dignity in suffering, set him apart from other Luckhnavi ghazal writers like Nasikh, who emphasised the technical aspects of Ghazal writing. He also wrote poems in the Khamariyyat tradition, to protest the ills of the feudal society. Faakhir Mehmood ( ur, ) is a Pakistani actor, singer, keyboradist, composer and music producer. He started out his career with the Pakistani musical group Awaz. However, due to conflicts of interest, the band split in 2000 and they all went to become solo artists. The band Awaz also consisted of well known musician Haroon. Early life and career Faakhir attended the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. During his university years, he met another young singer, Haroon. Together, they formed the band Awaz in 1992. Faakhir joined the band as a keyboardist and Asad Ahmed as a guitarist. After the band split in 2000, Faakhir embarked on a solo career. Faakhir started working on his album ''Aatish'' in July 2000 by releasing his first single in August, a national song "Dil Na Lagay, Pakistan". ''Aatish'' () is a 1979 Hindi-language action film, produced by Mohan Kumar under the EMKAY Enterprises banner and directed by Ambrish Sangal.
