Aaj (film)
''Aaj'' () is a 1987 Indian Hindi-language film, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Kuljeet Pal. It stars Raj Babbar, Smita Patil, Kumar Gaurav, Marc Zuber, and Anamika Pal. The film featured songs written by the Hindi poets Sudarshan Faakir and Madan Pal. Akshay Kumar made his first screen appearance with this film under his birth name ‘Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia’, in a bit role as a Karate instructor. Kumar further stated that he later chose the his official stage name as Akshay Kumar, after Gaurav's on-screen name in the film. Story Akshay (Kumar Gaurav) is a youngster whose sister has been missing for a long time. Akshay often wanders around on the streets looking for her. One day he meets and befriends a girl (Anamika Pal), who helps him to search for his sister with him. The movie traces their search and the twists that their own lives take during this search. Mahesh Bhatt
Mahesh Bhatt (born 20 September 1948) is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter known for his works in Hindi cinema. A stand-out film from his earlier period is '' Saaransh'' (1984), screened at the 14th Moscow International Film Festival. It became India's official entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for that year. The 1986 film '' Naam'' was his first piece of commercial cinema. Zubair Ahmed Siddiqi (5 May 1944 – 28 May 2003), better known as Marc Zuber, was an actor who appeared in many British and Hindi films and television dramas. Marc Zuber was born Zubair Ahmed Siddiqi on 5 May 1944 in Lucknow, India. He came to Britain with his family in 1951, joining his father who had moved two years earlier as a BBC radio producer. Zuber was brought up in London and went to Harrow Technical College before training as an actor at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.
