APRA Awards Of 2006
The Australasian Performing Right Association Awards of 2006 (generally known as APRA Awards) are a series of awards which include the APRA Music Awards, Classical Music Awards, and Screen Music Awards. The APRA Music Awards ceremony occurred on 5 June at the Sydney Four Seasons Hotel, they were presented by APRA and the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS). APRA introduced two new award categories, 'Most Performed Blues & Roots Work' and 'Most Performed Urban Work'. "Mind's Eye" is a song by Australian hard rock band Wolfmother. Written by band members Andrew Stockdale, Chris Ross and Myles Heskett, it was produced by Dave Sardy for the group's self-titled debut album in 2005. The song was also released as the first single from the album on 16 October 2005, initially as a double A-side with "Woman". The track reached number 29 on the Australian Singles Chart, number 88 on the Scottish Singles Chart and number 142 on the UK Singles Chart. Jet was an Australian rock band, formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2001. For most of the band's tenure, it consisted of lead guitarist and vocalist Cameron Muncey, bassist Mark Wilson, and brothers Nic (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Chris Cester (drums, vocals). Thirsty Merc are an Australian pop rock band formed in 2002 by Rai Thistlethwayte, Phil Stack (bass guitar), Karl Robertson (drums), and Matthew Baker (guitar). Bernard Fanning
Bernard Fanning (born 15 August 1969) is an Australian musician and singer-songwriter. He was the lead vocalist of Queensland alternative rock band Powderfinger from its formation in 1989. Born and raised in Toowong, Brisbane, Fanning received piano lessons from his mother at an early age. At the age of 15, while he attended St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, he began writing music. Upon graduating from St. Joseph's, Fanning moved on to the University of Queensland, where he studied journalism briefly.
