Ayo Edebiri ( ; born October 3, 1995) is an American actress, comedian, and television writer. Since 2022 she has played chef Sydney Adamu in the comedy-drama series '' The Bear'' and won a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award for the role. Edebiri has been a writer and voice actor on '' Big Mouth'' since 2020 and was a writer for the comedy series ''What We Do in the Shadows'' in 2022. In 2023, she voiced roles in '' Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse'' and '' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem'' and starred in the comedies '' Theater Camp'' and '' Bottoms''. The Upright Citizens Brigade is an improvisational and sketch comedy group that emerged from Chicago's ImprovOlympic in 1990.
