Avante!
''Avante!'' (''Onwards!'') is the official newspaper of the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP). Founded in 1931, it continues to be published to this day. The newspaper's motto is ''Workers of the World, Unite!'' and has been present in every edition of the newspaper since the very first. Its headquarters is in Lisbon. The newspaper started to be an irregular publication due to the constant repression against the Portuguese Communist Party led by the authorities during the Estado Novo (Portugal), Estado Novo regime, who consistently assaulted the clandestine printing offices. After a major reorganization in 1940, the party was able to make Avante! a better distributed newspaper among the working class, reporting events such as World War II or the Portuguese Colonial War without censorship. Portuguese Communist Party
The Portuguese Communist Party (, , PCP) is a Communism, communist and Marxism–Leninism, Marxist–Leninist List of political parties in Portugal, political party in Portugal. It is one of the strongest List of communist parties, communist parties in Western Europe and the oldest Portugal, Portuguese political party with uninterrupted existence. It is characterized as being between the Left-wing politics, left-wing and Far-left politics, far-left on the political spectrum. Avante! Festival
The ''Avante!'' Festival () is an annual cultural festival held during the first weekend of September. It was started in 1976 by the Portuguese Communist Party and is named after the party's official newspaper, '' Avante!'' After taking part in different locations around Lisbon, like the ', Ajuda and Loures, the festival is now held in Amora, a town near Seixal in a ground bought by the party after a massive fundraising campaign in the early 90s. The campaign was considered by the party as the only way to avoid the boycott organised by the owners of the previous festivals grounds, that culminated in 1987 with the festival not having been held after 11 editions. The festival usually sees hundreds of thousands of visitors, making the outside of the ground appear like a gigantic camping park. Tabloid (newspaper Format)

Humberto Delgado
Humberto da Silva Delgado (Portuguese pronunciation: �ˈbɛɾtu dɛɫˈɡadu 15 May 1906 – 13 February 1965) was a General of the Portuguese Air Force, diplomat and politician. Early life and military career Delgado was born in Brogueira, Torres Novas. He was the son of Joaquim Delgado and Maria do Ó Pereira and had three younger sisters, Deolinda, Aida and Lídia. He began his military career by joining the Colégio Militar, in Lisbon, which he attended from 1916 to 1922. He participated in the 28 May 1926 revolution that overthrew the First Republic and created the ''Ditadura Nacional,'' which would pave the way to the '' Estado Novo.'' The Eastern Bloc, also known as the Communist Bloc (Combloc), the Socialist Bloc, the Workers Bloc, and the Soviet Bloc, was an unofficial coalition of communist states of Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America that were aligned with the Soviet Union and existed during the Cold War (1947–1991).
