Caridina
''Caridina'' is a genus of freshwater atyid shrimp. They are widely found in tropical or subtropical water in Asia, Oceania and Africa. They are filter-feeders and omnivorous scavengers. They range from 0.9 to 9.8 mm ('' C. cantonensis'') to 1.2–7.4 mm ('' C. serrata'') in carapace length. Taxonomy and species There is evidence for hybridization between sympatric taxa, requiring care when interpreting molecular phylogenetic analyses that do not use a large number of specimens. Caridea
The Caridea, commonly known as caridean shrimp or true shrimp, from the Greek word καρίς, καρίδος (karís, karídos, “shrimp”), are an infraorder of shrimp within the order Decapoda. This infraorder contains all species of true shrimp. They are found widely around the world in both fresh water, fresh and seawater, salt water. Many other animals with similar names – such as the mud shrimp of Axiidea and the boxer shrimp of Stenopodidea – are not true shrimp, but many have evolved features similar to true shrimp. Atyopsis
''Atyopsis'' is a genus of freshwater shrimp from Southeast Asia. It was erected in 1983 by Fenner A. Chace, Jr. for two species formerly treated in the genus ''Atya''. It differs from ''Atya'' by various characters, including the form of the telson (which is longest at the corners in ''Atyopsis'', but not in ''Atya'') and the presence of a "massive spur" on the male third pereiopod. The genus comprises two species, '' Atyopsis spinipes'' and '' Atyopsis moluccensis''. No fossil representatives are known. They are found on volcanic islands from Sri Lanka to the Samoan Islands, and as far north as Okinawa, as well as on the Asian mainland from the Malay Peninsula to India.
