Atresmedia Corporación de Medios de Comunicación, S.A., previously Grupo Antena 3, is a Spanish media group, present in the television, radio and filmmaking industries. Significant shareholders include Grupo Planeta and Bertelsmann. On 6 March 2013, Grupo Antena 3 was renamed Atresmedia, thereby Antena 3 de Televisión changed to Atresmedia Televisión. Divisions Television Atresmedia operates several channels through Atresmedia Televisión of which Antena 3 and LaSexta are the flagship channels. Atresmedia Cine
Atresmedia Cine (formerly Ensueño Films and Antena 3 Films) is the studio belonging to Grupo Atresmedia responsible for producing films. It was created in 2000. History The film production company was created after the enacting of the Spanish Law 22/1999 regulating the collaboration between the television operators and the film industry. The studio of the Grupo Antena 3 (later Atresmedia) was created in 2000 under the brand identity 'Ensueño Films'. It was later rebranded as 'Antena 3 Films', and then as 'Atresmedia Cine'. In light of the ensuing forced investment of the television operators in film production, Atresmedia (through its own studio) as well as rival operator Mediaset España (through its respective producing arm Telecinco Cinema) eventually became the two main film producers in the country. Mega (Spanish TV Channel)
Mega is a Spanish television channel owned by Atresmedia. Its programming is aimed towards a male audience. The network is available on digital terrestrial television (TDT as it is known in Spain) as well as cable and satellite. History On May 6, 2014, Atresmedia was forced to close Nitro, Xplora and la Sexta 3 channels due to a supreme court ruling, so the programming aimed at the male audience had to be placed on other group channels such as Neox or LaSexta. After this event, Atresmedia sought to recover the license that was leased to Gol Televisión, setting the end of 2015 as a limit. In May 2015, Atresmedia and Mediapro signed the rescission of the frequency rental agreement, since Mediapro would launch a new channel in association with BeIn Sports, so Gol Televisión would stop broadcasting. Neox (formerly Antena.Neox) is a Spanish television channel run by Atresmedia. History The channel was launched as Antena.Neox in 2005 together with Antena.Nova, with the aim of strengthening the Antena 3 brand in the recently launched digital terrestrial television in Spain. Flooxer
Flooxer is a Spanish brand of original audiovisual streaming content which belongs to Atresmedia. Initially its own platform, after the launch of streaming service Atresplayer by Atresmedia, the brand and content from Flooxer were integrated into the new platform.
