Athhoi
''Athhoi'' is a 2024 Bengali romantic tragedy thriller film directed by Arna Mukhopadhyay. The film stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Arna Mukhopadhyay and Sohini Sarkar in lead roles. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of SVF and Jio Studios, the film is a contemporary retelling and modern adaptation of the epic Othello by William Shakespeare. It marked the directorial debut of Arna Mukhopadhay. Anirban Bhattacharya worked as the lyricist and creative director for the film. Amit Chatterjee composed the music while Sanglap Bhowmik was the editor. It released in theatres on 14th June, 2024 and received positive reviews from the audience and mixed reviews from the critics. Anirban Bhattacharya (born 7 October 1986) is an Indian actor, theatre actor, singer and director. ''Othello'' (full title: ''The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice'') is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare, probably in 1603, set in the contemporary Ottoman–Venetian War (1570–1573) fought for the control of the Island of Cyprus, a possession of the Venetian Republic since 1489. Roderigo
Roderigo is a fictional character in Shakespeare's ''Othello'' (c.1601-1604), where he serves as the secondary antagonist of the play. He is a dissolute Venetian lusting after Othello's wife Desdemona. Roderigo has opened his purse to Iago in the mistaken belief that Iago is using his money to pave the way to Desdemona's bed. When the assassination of Michael Cassio runs amiss, Iago fatally wounds Roderigo.
