Assumption High School (AHS) is a public secondary school located at 4880 Highway 308 in Assumption Parish, Louisiana, United States, north of the city of Napoleonville. It is a part of the Assumption Parish School Board. The sole high school in Assumption Parish, it takes students from all parts of the parish, including Napoleonville, Labadieville, Pierre Part, Bayou L'Ourse, and Belle Rose. Academics Assumption High School is a comprehensive public senior high school. The school offers an honors program, an Advanced Placement (AP) program, and a dual enrollment program. Dual enrollment classes are offered to eligible juniors and seniors through L. E. Fletcher Technical Community College. Napoleonville, LA
Napoleonville, is a village and the parish seat of Assumption Parish, in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The population was 660 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pierre Part Micropolitan Statistical Area. The village is best known as the location where the film ''Because of Winn-Dixie'', based on Kate DiCamillo's Newbery Prize-winning novel, was shot. The book was set in (fictional) Naomi, Florida. History As early as 1807 the community that later became Napoleonville was known as "Canal". This canal extended west from Napoleonville to Lake Verret. The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) is the agency that regulates and promotes the interscholastic athletic competitions of all high schools in the state of Louisiana. "Mustang Sally" is a rhythm and blues (R&B) song written and first recorded by Mack Rice in 1965. It was released on the Blue Rock label (4014) in May 1965 with "Sir Mack Rice" as the artist. Relay For Life is a community-based walkathon and the largest fundraising event of the American Cancer Society (ACS). Teams of people, varying in size, alternate between walking laps and interacting with other aspects of the fundraiser.
