Arkarna
Arkarna is an English electronic/rock band, comprising singer-songwriter/programmer Ollie Jacobs and guitarist Matt Hart. Past members included James Barnett, guitarist Lalo Creme (son of former 10cc and Godley & Creme member Lol Creme) and drummer Sebastian Beresford. Arkarna has enjoyed sold out tours in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia, as well as various headlining festival slots. The band is noted for its energetic live performances and for fusing many music genres. History Formed by Ollie Jacobs in England in the mid-1990s, Arkarna debuted in 1997 with the album '' Fresh Meat''. Jacobs (programmer and vocalist) had worked as an engineer and producer in his father's London studios, Rollover , from the age of 14. ''Fresh Meat'' is the debut album of the English electronic rock band Arkarna. It was released in the United States on August 26, 1997. Its moderate success was proven by two of the songs getting frequent radio air time, "House on Fire" and "Eat Me", the former of which appeared on the ''Batman & Robin'' soundtrack and the Friends episode The One with Joey's New Girlfriend. The track "So Little Time" was the theme song to the television series of the same name. Lalo Creme
Laurence Neil "Lol" Creme ( ; born 19 September 1947) is an English musician and music video director, best known for his work in 10cc. He was later one half of the duo Godley & Creme, with 10cc drummer Kevin Godley. Creme has collaborated with Trevor Horn's Band. He sings and plays guitar, bass and keyboards. Early life and education Creme was born in Prestwich, Lancashire, England. Like bandmates Graham Gouldman and Kevin Godley, Creme grew up in a Jewish household. While attending art school in Birmingham, where he met Godley, he took up the nickname 'Lolagon'. He graduated from the college in Birmingham in 1968. Deep Forest
Deep Forest is a French music project that originally began as a duo consisting of Michel Sanchez (musician), Michel Sanchez and Éric Mouquet. They compose a style of world music, sometimes called ethnic electronica, mixing ethnic with electronic sounds and electronic dance music, dance beats or Chill-out music, chillout beats. Their sound has been described as an "ethno-introspective ambient world music". Big Life was a record label established in 1987 by Jazz Summers and Tim Parry. It featured hundreds of releases from artists such as The Orb, Stare, Yazz, Junior Reid, Coldcut, De La Soul, and Damage. In 1999, the label was put into receivership. Trevor Horn
Trevor Charles Horn (born 15 July 1949) is an English record producer and musician. His influence on pop and electronic music in the 1980s was such that he has been called "the man who invented the eighties". Horn took up the bass guitar at an early age and taught himself to sight-read music. In the 1970s, he worked as a session musician, built his own studio, and wrote and produced singles for various artists. Horn gained fame in 1979 as a member of the Buggles, who achieved a hit single with " Video Killed the Radio Star". He was invited to join the progressive rock band Yes, becoming their lead singer. In 1981, Horn became a full-time producer, working on successful songs and albums for acts including Yes, Dollar, ABC, Malcolm McLaren, Grace Jones and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Clive Black, is a British music executive. He is the founder of Blacklist Entertainment, and former managing director at EMI. Career Black started his career at 16 years old, as a junior for Island Records in 1980, but moved into A&R. He was the scout responsible for signing Mark Hollis, lead singer and principal songwriter of the band Talk Talk, to Island Publishing. He also set up the dance label Positiva Records.
