Apple Pope
Apple Joe Pope is an American rugby league player who currently plays for the United States national team. He has also played for the Jacksonville Axemen. His position is hooker. Career Pope was born in Yulee, Florida, near Jacksonville. He is a registered nurse by profession. He began his rugby league career in the Jacksonville Axemen's inaugural season in 2006. His brother Taco Pope has also played for the Axemen and the United States rugby league team. Pope made his debut on the national team at the Rugby League Atlantic Cup in 2009. He was named team captain for the 2010 Atlantic Cup, leading the team to victory, and was named player of the game. In 2010 he went to Australia to attend training camps, and was named to the trial team of the Tweed Heads Seagulls. RLIF Awards
The RLIF Awards are the Rugby League International Federation's annual major international sporting award for rugby league. Since 2004 the awards ceremony recognises the best referee, coach, developing nations player, international newcomer, captain and a team of the year. In 2007, the RLIF did not organise any awards. To fill the gap, Rugby League World magazine asked its Golden Boot panel to come up with winners in the existing categories used by the RLIF. Coinciding with the 2008 Rugby League World Cup, the RLIF Awards were rebranded and the old award system was replaced. The Tower of London, officially His Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. The Tweed Heads Seagulls, often referred to simply as Tweed or Seagulls or Tweed Seagulls, is a rugby league club based in Tweed Heads, New South Wales. It is one of only two non-Queensland teams to play in the Queensland Cup, along with the PNG Hunters. United States National Rugby League Team
The United States national rugby league team represents the United States in international rugby league football competitions. The team is managed by the USA Rugby League (USARL). The United States competed with little success in some international games during the 1950s, but did not return to consistent competition until 1987. With the establishment of the American National Rugby League (AMNRL) in 1997, the team began to participate in more regular international competition, reaching the quarterfinals of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.
