Anxious Bay
Anxious Bay is a bay in the Australian state of South Australia located on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula about west north-west of Adelaide. It was named by Matthew Flinders on 21 February 1802. It is one of four ‘ historic bays' located on the South Australian coast. Extent & description Anxious Bay lies between Cape Radstock and Cape Finniss on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula. Anxious Bay itself is the entry point for the following minor coastal inlets from west to east – Baird Bay and Venus Bay. It is one of four bays on the South Australian coast considered by the Australian government to be a 'historic bay' under the ''Seas and Submerged Lands Act 1973'' and proclaimed as such in 1987 and again in 2006 with the result that the mouth of the bay is on the territorial seas baseline and the waters within the bay are internal waters as per the definition used in United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Lake Newland Conservation Park
Lake Newland Conservation Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula about north of the town of Elliston. It was proclaimed in 1991 in order to protect Lake Newland, a hypersaline lake, and an associated wetland complex. It lies in the traditional lands of the Wirangu people. History and description The conservation park is located within the gazetted localities (from south to north) of Elliston, Colton, and Talia. It stretches along a coastal strip, and includes the large sand dunes which lie between the lake and the sea. Baird Bay Islands Conservation Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia associated with two islands located in Baird Bay on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula respectively about and west south-west of Streaky Bay. The islands are respectively an unnamed island within Baird Bay and Jones Island, and each first obtained protected area status as a fauna conservation reserve declared under the ''Crown Lands Act 1929-1966'' on 16 March 1967.
