Anu Ramdas
Anu Ramdas (born 26 January 1980) is an artist, teacher and researcher based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the Department of Experimental Art at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China, and at Malmø Art Academy. Ramdas' work seems to always take its point of departure in lens-based technology unfolding her ideas through various mediums such as; sound, text, performance, drawing, film and photography. She employs advanced meditation techniques to access the multi-dimensional archive of her own unconscious mind and explores the complexity that lies between the idea and the sensed; negotiating the values of the detectable and the undetectable. In her series ''Parent Bodies'' she reads her own body as an agent of the light sensitive material and translates this data into hand drawn blueprints that serve for future three dimensional and time-based works. The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts () has provided education in the arts for more than 250 years, playing its part in the development of the art of Denmark. History The Royal Danish Academy of Portraiture, Sculpture, and Architecture in Copenhagen was inaugurated on 31 March 1754, and given as a gift to the King Frederik V on his 31st birthday. Its name was changed to the Royal Danish Academy of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture in 1771. At the same event, Johann Friedrich Struensee introduced a new scheme in the academy to encourage artisan apprentices to take supplementary classes in drawing so as to develop the notion of "good taste". The building boom resulting from the Great Fire of 1795 greatly profited from this initiative. In 1814 the name was changed again, this time to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. 798 Art Zone (), or Dashanzi Art District, is a complex of 50-year-old decommissioned People's Liberation Army, military factory buildings boasting a unique architectural style that houses a thriving artistic community in Dashanzi, Chaoyang District, Beijing, Chaoyang District, Beijing.
