Antonio Watson
Antonio Watson (born 11 September 2001) is a Jamaican sprinter. He won the gold medal in the 2017 World Youth Championships in Athletics – Boys' 400 metres, boys' 400 metres event at the 2017 World Youth Championships in Athletics held in Nairobi, Kenya. In 2018, he won the silver medal in the Athletics at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics – Boys' 200 metres, boys' 200 metres event at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, Summer Youth Olympics held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He won the 200 m bronze medal and the gold in the 4 × 100 relay in the 2021 NACAC U18 U20 and U23 Championships in Athletics, 2021 NACAC U23 Championships. Watson won gold in the 2023 World Athletics Championships – Men's 400 metres, 400 m at the 2023 World Athletics Championships, 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. 2023 World Athletics Championships
The 2023 World Athletics Championships (), the nineteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships, were held from 19 to 27 August 2023 at the National Athletics Centre (Budapest), National Athletics Centre, in Budapest, Hungary. The tournament returned to its usual two-year cycle after the previous event in Eugene, Oregon, United States was postponed to 2022, held a little 13 months earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These are the first World Athletics Championships in Hungary. The city of Budapest had previously stated an interest in hosting the 2007 World Championships in Athletics, 2007 World Championships, but withdrew and it was eventually held in Osaka. An athlete is most commonly a person who competes in one or more sports involving physical strength, speed, power, or endurance. The 2017 IAAF World U18 Championships was the tenth and last edition of the biennial international athletics competition for youth (under-18) athletes. The five-day competition took place between 12 and 16 July at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. Eligible athletes were aged 16 or 17 on 31 December 2017 (born in 2000 or 2001). South Africa topped the medals table with 11 medals, five of them gold, while host nation Kenya finished fourth with four gold and 15 medals in total.
