Antipolo, officially the City of Antipolo (), is a Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, component city and capital of the Provinces of the Philippines, province of Rizal (province), Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 887,399 people. It is the most populous city in Rizal Province and in Calabarzon region, and the seventh most-populous city in the Philippines. It is also the most populated city under the component city status. Its higher elevation than that of Metro Manila affords it a scenic view of the metropolitan area, especially at night. Its locally grown mangoes and cashews are popular among tourists, as well as Suman (food), suman – a local delicacy made out of glutinous rice. Antipolo Cathedral
The International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, commonly known as Antipolo Cathedral and alternatively known as the Immaculate Conception Parish (), is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Antipolo, Philippines. It enshrines a venerated Black Madonna image of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (), and serves as the seat of the Bishop of Antipolo. Hinulugang Taktak
Hinulugang Taktak Protected Landscape, also known as Hinulugan Taktak, is a protected area in Rizal, Philippines. Initially assigned as a recreation area, the waterfall area has been designated as a national park by virtue of Republic Act No. 6964 in 1990. Ten years later, it became a protected landscape under Proclamation No. 412. It is managed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Rizal Provincial Government. History Folk knowledge has it that the name was derived from a large bell (''taktak'') that was thrown (''hinulog'') into the falls during the 15th century or the 16th century because the local villagers considered it too loud. Sumulong Highway
The Sumulong Highway (formally known as Antipolo-Victoria Valley-Marikina Road) is a highway in the Philippines connecting Marikina in Metro Manila with Antipolo and Cainta in the province of Rizal. The Ynares Center, also known as Ynares Center Antipolo, is an indoor arena located along the Circumferential Road in Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines. The facility, which has a seating capacity of 7,400, is managed by the Provincial Government of Rizal. The arena is named after the Ynares family of Rizal, whose members had served as governors since 1992. It was also the site of the 100th Foundation Anniversary Celebration of the province.
