Ann Tyrrell
Ann Tyrrell (February 6, 1909 – July 20, 1983) was an American stage, film and television actress. Tyrrell is best known for her roles in both of the Ann Sothern CBS sitcoms ''Private Secretary'' (1953–1957) and '' The Ann Sothern Show'' (1958–1961). Career A native of Whatcom County in northwestern Washington state, Tyrrell won her first film role in 1949 at the age of forty as Miss Swanson in '' Bride for Sale''. She and Reagan shared birthdays, but she was two years his senior. In 1953, she appeared unbilled as Mary Tudor sister of Queen Elizabeth I in the M-G-M historical drama ''Queen Bess'' and in 1955, she appeared in the film '' Seven Angry Men'' with Raymond Massey and Jeffrey Hunter. ''The People's Choice'' is an American television sitcom that aired on NBC from 1955 to 1958. It was primarily sponsored by the Borden Company. Production of the series was overseen by George Burns's company, McCadden Productions. It stars Jackie Cooper as Socrates "Sock" Miller, who is a former Marine Korean War veteran and a young politician living in fictitious New City, California. Sock has a basset hound named "Cleo", whose thoughts (voiced by Mary Jane Croft), baleful observations of Sock's dilemmas, are recorded on the soundtrack for the viewers' amusement. A myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow decreases or stops to the coronary artery of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw. Donald Cecil Porter (September 24, 1912 – February 11, 1997) was an American stage, film and television actor. On television, he played Peter Sands, the boss of Ann Sothern's character on ''Private Secretary'', and Russell Lawrence, the widowed father of 15-year-old Frances "Gidget" Lawrence (Sally Field) in the 1965 ABC sitcom ''Gidget''.
