Animal Antics
Animal Antics is a twice BAFTA-nominated, live-action British pre-school series which aired on Channel 5 (UK), Channel 5's Milkshake!, Milkshake strand. It was one of the first original children's program to air when it launched in 1997. The series was produced by Two Side Productions and it Initially run for 80 episodes. Although it only ran for 1 series, 4 spin-off's have been produced between 2001 and 2015 each narrated by Derek Griffiths. Original series Animal antics was created as a flagship show for channel 5's strand for children, 'Milkshake!'. It was one of the first original show to air in 1997 when the channel launched. Each episode featured stories of wildlife and farmyard characters narrated by David Griffiths in their natural environment. The series took a fly on the wall look into their lives with Griffiths portraying each animal in a comedy style. The show aired weekday mornings. Nick Jr. (known on-air as the Nick Jr. Channel) is an American pay television channel spun off from Nickelodeon's long-running programming block of the same name. It is run by Paramount Global through its networks division's Kids and Family Group. The channel launched on September 28, 2009, and primarily targets preschoolers. Its lineup features a mix of originally-produced programming, along with series from the Nickelodeon weekday block; because of the two entities, Nick Jr. is known on-air as "the Nick Jr. Channel" (as of March 2018) to avoid confusion, especially at times of day where both services are carrying preschool programming. Derek Griffiths
Derek Griffiths (born 15 July 1946) is a British actor, singer, and voice artist who appeared in numerous British children's television series in the 1960s to present and has more recently played parts in television drama. Career Griffiths was known in his early years for his ''Play School'' appearances alongside the likes of Chloe Ashcroft, Johnny Ball and Brian Cant. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he voiced over and sang the theme tune to ''Heads and Tails'', a series of short animal films for children produced by BBC Television, and also sang and played the theme tune to the cartoon '' Bod''. Tickle, Patch And Friends
''Tickle, Patch and Friends'' was a BAFTA award-winning television series for children. The series was produced in-house by Ed Matthews for the United Kingdom television network Channel 5, and was originally broadcast in the Milkshake! programming block, which ran from 28 August 1999 to 26 June 2005. Plot Tickle, Patch and Friends featured the misadventures of the two guinea pigs Tickle and Patch. Made and Puppeteered by Marcus Clarke and Helena Smee. ''Milkshake!'' (stylised as milkshake!) is a British children's television programming block on Channel 5 and is currently aimed at children aged 3–7. History The block debuted on Channel 5's first full day on air, at 7.30am on 31 March 1997 and is broadcast on weekdays from 06:00 to 09:15 and weekends from 06:00 to 10:00.
