Angela Park
Angela Park (, born August 25, 1988) is a Brazilian Americans, Brazilian-American professional golfer who played on the LPGA Tour. She holds dual citizenship in Brazil and the United States. Childhood and personal life Park was born in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná (state), Paraná, Brazil to South Korean-born parents who had a business in Brazil. At the age of 8, she moved with her father and siblings to Torrance, California and spent the remainder of her childhood there where she attended Torrance High School. She states she has only been to Korea on holiday. In June 2008 Park became a United States citizen. She also retains her Brazilian citizenship. Amateur career Park was successful in the American Junior Golf Association, winning five times. In 29 events in four seasons, she posted 24 top-10 finishes. Foz do Iguaçu (; "Iguazu River mouth"), colloquially referred to as Foz, is the Brazilian city on the border of Iguaçu Falls. LPGA Championship
The Women's PGA Championship (branded as the KPMG Women's PGA Championship for sponsorship reasons) is a women's professional golf tournament. First held in 1955, it is one of five majors on the LPGA Tour. It is not recognized as a major by the Ladies European Tour, which does not recognize any of the three majors played in the United States. Formerly known as the LPGA Championship, the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) announced in 2014 that the PGA of America would become a partner of the event, and that it would be renamed the Women's PGA Championship beginning in 2015—becoming a sister event to the men's PGA Championship (in a similar manner to the U.S. Women's Open being a sister event to the men's U.S. Open). Women's World Cup Of Golf
The Women's World Cup of Golf was a professional golf tournament contested by teams of two female golfers representing their respective countries. The tournament was played in several incarnations, first in 1992 as the Sunrise Cup World Team Championship held in Taiwan, and in 2000 at Adare Manor in Ireland sanctioned only by the Ladies European Tour. It was later played annually between 2005 and 2008 at Gary Player Country Club in South Africa, and sanctioned also by the LPGA, LPGA Tour, money unofficial on both tours. The purse in the final year was US$1.4 million. The field consisted of twenty-two teams and each qualifying country could field one team. The 2007 Lexus Cup was a golf event competed by women representing Asia and an International squad representing the rest of the world. Each team was made up of twelve members. The competition took place at The Vines Resort & Country Club in Perth, Australia from 7–9 December 2007. The 2010 LPGA Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world that began in Thailand on February 13, 2010, and ended in Florida on December 5, 2010. The tournaments were sanctioned by the United States–based Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). The tour included 24 tournaments, including events in Malaysia, southern California, and two in New Jersey that were new to the schedule in 2010. The tournaments were sanctioned by the United States–based Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). 2009 saw a reduction in both the number of tournaments and the total prize money on the Tour. Official prize money was $47.6 million, the lowest total in since 2005. There were 28 official tournaments, the lowest number since at least 2004.
