André Goosse
André Goosse (16 April 1926, Liège – 4 August 2019) was a Belgian Linguist, grammarian. The son-in-law of Maurice Grevisse, he took over editing and updating Grevisse's last book, ''Le Bon Usage''. In 1988, he married the Belgian writer France Bastia. Professor at the Université Catholique de Louvain, he was also the president of the Conseil international de la langue française. His earliest research was carried out on the work of the 14th century writer from Liège, Jean d'Outremeuse. His work, carried out under the direction of Omer Jodogne, turned into a thesis which he defended in 1959, which was published in 1965. Notable among his publications is a work exposing and commenting on the ''Les rectifications de l'orthographe'' ("corrections to orthography"), which was a report published on 6 December 1990 in the Journal officiel de la République française. Jean-Marie Klinkenberg
Jean-Marie Klinkenberg (born 8 October 1944) is a Belgian linguist and semiotician, professor at the State University of Liège, born in Verviers (Belgium) in 1944. Member of the interdisciplinary Groupe μ. President of the International Association for visual Semiotics. Biography Jean-Marie Klinkenberg, born in 1944 in Verviers (Belgium), received his Masters (1967) and his Doctorate (1971) in Romance Philology at the State University of Liège. He teaches language studies at the University of Liège, focusing on rhetoric and semiotics. He also teaches French-language literature (particularly Belgian and Québécois). His scientific activities focus on two areas: linguistics/semiotics and French-speaking cultures. ''Le Soir'' (, ) is a French-language Belgian daily newspaper. Founded in 1887 by Émile Rossel, it was intended as a politically independent source of news. Together with '' La Libre Belgique'', it is one of the most popular Francophone newspapers in both Brussels and Wallonia, and since 2005 has been published in Berliner format. It is owned by Rossel & Cie, which also owns several Belgian news outlets, as well as the French paper '' La Voix du Nord''. Marc Wilmet
Marc Wilmet (28 August 1938 – 10 November 2018) was a Belgian linguist and professor at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). In 1986, he was awarded the Francqui Prize on Human Sciences. Biography Marc Wilmet was born in Charleroi and spent his early years in various locations across Wallonia due to his father's assignments as a gendarme. He later attended school in Koekelberg. He obtained a licentiate degree in Romance philology in 1960 and a doctorate in Philosophy and Letters in 1968, both from the ULB. He began his teaching career at the Athénée royal in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, where he taught French. He later held academic positions in general and French linguistics at both the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), from 1970 to 2003, and the Université Libre de Bruxelles, from 1976 to 2003.
